Week 18 – Skein N⁰. 20 Hermione’s Everyday Socks

This week I knit my very first pair of socks! I have always been a bit intimidated by the idea of socks but these turned out so amazing, I’ve actually already cast-on a second pair.

I selected the Hermione’s Everyday Sock pattern by Erica Lueder. Over 20k people have successfully made these socks, so I figured it was a good pattern to start with. Since these were my first socks a few things weren’t clear in the pattern but fortunately Simply in Stitches posted a step-by-step video series on YouTube that answered my questions.

Trying on almost finished socks.

I need to get the right size circular needles so I can work both socks at the same time, but I  already started my second pair and will use the DPNs again.

The socks fit perfectly and I can’t wait to wear them to work tomorrow!  My only concern is that I love high cushion socks and I worry these might not be warm enough for my toes but we shall see.  I went ahead and cast-on my next pair of socks which is with the same yarn but in a blue colorway.

Have a great week.

Madeleine
