This week I went for a quick knit with chunky yarn. I bought this skein of chunky green wool last November from a local yarn pop-up Christmas shop. This Lopi yarn is a mix of Bluefaced Leicester and Island Lamb.
Growing up my dad loved wearing a beret and I was of course horrified. I feel like I maybe even use to hide it so he would have to wear a “normal” hat. So I had to chuckle to myself when I was browsing Ravelry and found myself drawn to the berets. There were tons of options but I went with Not Another Bulky Beret Pattern by Madelaine Bartlett.
After looking at a bunch of handknit beret photos on Ravelry I noticed a lot of berets did not have the proper beret shape, so I did a little research. The trick to proper beret shape occurs during the blocking phase. I went with the largest plate in my cupboard but wish it had been a tad bit bigger.
This week was perfect Fall weather but it is suppose to start snowing this afternoon so I will be able to wear this to work tomorrow.
Have a great week,
