DOMESTIC STRATA // South Marysburgh Wool Knit Slippers Free Pattern For Men

Skein N⁰. 12 & Skein N⁰. 13 – Tired Feet Wool South Marysburgh Slippers

Winding Churro Yarn on Truck Steering WheelI skipped blogging last week, due to Jason running Le Griz which is a 50+ mile race up in Glacier National Park.  It turns out that it is faster to run 50 miles than to knit a pair of slippers. Although, I was not nearly as focused on knitting as he was on running…

Knitting gold and blue slippers.

I am starting to think that mud is just a part of ultra running, so I need to remember that when I plan knitting projects.  I used the same tough Churro wool that I used for my slippers so I wasn’t worried about the yarn getting dirty. I stuck with the South Marysburgh free slipper pattern by Sam Lamb. I had no internet and pretty much just made them from memory, which is an indication of how easy they are to make. I did make some color changes because I knew that I wouldn’t have enough of the golden yarn (Skein No. 13) to make both slipper bodies since Jason’s feet are larger, so I decided to do the heel, toe and opening with navy yarn (Skein No. 12) and it worked out perfectly with minimal leftover yarn.

Jason modelling his new slippers on the rug I made at the beginning of the year which just happens to be made from the same yarn. So far, we have both worn our slippers daily, which make them a total win!
